Sukshinder Shinda’s new video “One In A Million” finds ‘The Music Man’ taking the fifth track from his ‘Rock Da Party’ album to the USA with scenes shot on location in Sacramento, Yuba City and around San Francisco watch full video here and read what he had to say to us about the album and track!

The spectacular Italian Renaissance-style villa Grand Island Mansion features prominently as one of the venues (located on the Grand island in the delta region east of San Francisco Bay), as does Chohan Mansion in Yuba City where Sukshinder Shinda is featured alongside a Lamborghini Murciélago, one of only 5000 cars in the world.

On the Bling! scale of video shoots, the locations themselves, plus the mega yacht that rides the waves of San Francisco Bay are in $15m+ price range giving Sukshinder Shinda the most-requested track on the album a video second-to-none! Shot by the legendary Sai Smith from the Ballistic video team using a RED cam with a 30-foot SuperTechno crane system, the production crew features Ben Griffin, a well-known mainstream director who has worked on videos with Snoop Dogg, E40 and many other US urban acts.

The video is also a return for the artist J.Gib of Takeova Ent., who’s already featured on the hits ‘Romeo’ for Jazzy B as well as Shinda’s global super-hits ‘Punjabi Clap’ and ‘Shoulder Surf’. Rawsmoov, the rapper/singer/song writer from Northern California who has worked with the likes of Sean Kingston, Bobby Valentino and Juvenile also adds his presence to the video. The whole video project has been managed and produced by Mannie Kalikwest "Mr Connected" in the USA

“One In A Million” follows the hits “Nanke Mail,” “Hurrr,” “Ni Sohaniye Ni” and “Mucch Khari” further highlighting the versatility of Sukshinder Shinda behind the production desk and in front of the mic.

On the album, you’ve teamed back up with Takeover ENT on the singles ‘Rock Da Party’ & ‘One In A Million’ – Did you feel you wanted a more diverse musical album?

Yes, it is always good to give variety of music as not everyone will like the same song…I have previously worked with Takeover ENT and Kalikwest and the feedback and response has always been immense.

The song that is getting a lot of great praise is ‘One In A Million’ – Did you think the song would get such a great response?

I would like to say a big THANKS to everyone who has praised the song and requested it on TV and radio. In all honestly it’s very hard for me to know which song will get the most response, but I am very happy with the vibe so far…

We’ve heard rumours of Collaborations 3 already in the pipeline. Can you confirm this, and any clues on who will be featuring?

Like you say it’s just rumours… I have made no plans for Collaborations 3

You’ve been making music for over 20 years now, can you walk us through the process which you’ll take to create a song. Do you start with the music first? Or find lyrics?

Neither comes first or second in my experience…Sometimes I think of a hook line and give it to a writer and then do the music after, and other times I have a beat in mind and get a song written accordingly. Music is based on feelings and moods…there is never a process in music that I have followed.

Creatively, what do you think of the contemporary Punjabi music industry? Which artists excite you and do you think are maintaining standards?

It would be unfair to name artists as I’d upset some and forget some! But I am a music person and appreciate everything that comes out and make a point of trying to listen to everyone's music. There are some really good underrated talents out there but there are also some poor producers and singers too! The public are the best judges.
