Peji Shahkoti ft. Northern Lights - Speaker Kharku (Out Now)
Out 1st September is the track titled 'Speaker Kharku' by Peji Shahkoti with music by Northern Lights.
There aren’t many Singer/Producer teams out there that are able to boast continuous success on every project they have released together since their journey began.
Then again, these two aren’t just anybody. The singer being the youngest member of the world famous Shahkoti family and the music producer, one that has collaborated with some of the world’s biggest singers. More recently of course being the world famous Bollywood Sufi sensations, Nooran Sisters.
Whether it be “Karle Pasand” when their journey began in 2011, “Mera Dil Vanjara” in 2014 or the last collaboration “Nede Nede” in January 2016. The boys have delivered a hat trick of hits helping them to grow their fan following and supporters throughout the world.
They have been working hard in the studio for the past two years on Peji’s debut album with two singles already released having achieved phenomenal support and success.
The first song from the album was the soulful Arabian Hip Hop number “Mera Dil Vanjara” which also featured the vocals of Avneet and rapper Genuine Soundz, both very talented voices from the Organised Rhyme family. The song went on to proudly remain on the BBC Asian network A list for 5 weeks and achieved the Number 1 position on the BBC Asian Download chart for two weeks. The song was loved by the masses and has also been shortlisted for a Hollywood blockbuster soundtrack.
Fast forward to January 2016 and the Sur & Bass winning chemistry was back together again with the release of Panjabi hit Duet song “Nede Nede” which has become one of the biggest wedding anthems of 2016. The song was a traditional desi firecracker, with playful lyrics, hard hitting beats and signature Northern Lights bass line. It also featured Punjabi singing sensation Rupinder Handa as the female lead.
“Nede Nede” was a joy to the many around the globe, achieving over 1.2 Million hits on YouTube to date and being given heavy rotation after being added to both TV and Radio playlist throughout the world. Not only that but also achieving BBC Asian download chart top 5 success and seen consistently in the top 40 for many weeks following release. An uncommon pattern with Asian releases these days.
The formula that has delivered success since 2011 is being used again for their latest offering, which has already caused a storm on social media with their clever and cryptic PR campaign to announce the title “Speaker Kharku”
Another sure fire dancefloor hit, “Speaker Kharku” delivers a high energetic, shoulder shaking potion, spiked with hard hitting beats, Asian percussion and a filthy baseline to do exactly whats it’s supposed to… Kharka (shake) those speakers!
The snappy 3 minutes and 8 seconds, delivers a message to tell everyone that all friends are going to be turning this one up, to ensure speakers are pumping and getting everyone onto the dancefloor!
The song is accompanied by a video that continues the traditional Punjabi theme from “Nede Nede” and features a comedy element which we will leave as a surprise. Both Audio and Video have already been confirmed on playlists of the biggest global media players and all the ingredients are in place to ensure song number three from this debut album by the youngest member of the Shahkoti family is going to be another success story.
They’ve done it before and they have used that chart topping formula again. We are placing our bets that this catchy hookline along with firing beats, will be requested by partygoers at events across the world, making the song into an evergreen hit onto DJ playlists to shake all speakers across the world.
