Punjab Reloaded (Friday 24th June)
Taking place on Friday 24 June, Pure Punjabi events presents Punjab Reloaded. A night in Leeds like no other, designed to take you on a journey of musical excellence with performances from the likes of BBC’s very own DJ Limelight and the music maestro that is Raf-Saperra.
The night will also play a special tribute to the late Sidhu Moose Wala. Hailed as one of the most ground-breaking artists to emerge out of Punjab, Sidhu’s life was tragically cut short after he was shot dead near his village in Punjab, India. With a career spanning just four years, he made a huge impact on the global music scene, bringing together Punjabi and urban music like no other person has done before. DJ Jai Sagoo will be spinning some of his most famous tracks on the night including ‘Dollar’ and ‘47’ – an iconic crossover song featuring the likes of Stefflon Don and grime rapper Mist.

Also on the night East London born and raised DJ Limelight will play a set designed to get the crowd jumping. Hosting a regular slot with the infamous Kan D Man on BBC Asian Network, DJ Limelight has amassed a huge following bringing together contemporary urban beats fused with the best of the Asian music world.
Raf-Saperra will also be singing live on the night. An expert on mixing traditional Punjabi folk music infused with elements of modern beats, the artist brings a unique sound to the present music scene by going back to his Punjabi roots – something that is integral to his creative work.
Jatinder Rai, organiser of Pure Punjabi Events said: “This is our second event following the huge success of our first northern bhangra night a few months back, and we couldn’t be more excited.

“The line-up we’ve pulled together for this event is iconic, but will be particularly poignant with the tribute to Sidhu Moose Wala. As someone who is so passionate about bhangra music this is a huge loss to the ever-evolving music scene, but his legacy will live on through music and events like this.”
The gig will take place on Friday 24 June at The Wardrobe in Leeds. Tickets for the night can be purchased here - https://www.fatsoma.com/purepunjabievents
