Roach Killa tops the Asian Network Charts!
Roach Killa’s first single, “Yaara Dil Dara” taken from his brand new album, “The Revolution,” has smashed its way to the number one spot on the BBC Asian Network charts in a short space of time.
Masterminded by talented music producer Surinder Rattan, “Yaara Dil Dara” features the powerful vocals of qawwali singer Shahid Ali Khan, which are smoothly combined with Roach Killa’s skilful wordplay.
Bringing together two totally diverse genres from different parts of the world, “Yaara Dil Dara” is a true example of a successful east meets west collaboration. The ground-breaking song has been receiving rave reviews from industry professionals for bringing a fresh sound with slick production and a catchy hook.
Celebrating the success of the single, Roach Killa said: “Yaara Dil Dara was my first single so I wasn’t sure how it would be received in the UK. It is a very exciting time for me now that its number one on the Asian Network Charts and it’s made me want to carry on trying new things. I just want to thank everyone for all the support!”
As one of the few reggae/dancehall artists to hit the top spot on the Asian Network charts, Roach Killa is certainly following in the footsteps of original raggamuffin Apache Indian.
Talking about Roach Killa, Apache Indian said: “Big respect to Roach Killa! He’s been in the game for a while now and has performed with me all over the world. It makes me proud to see a fellow raggamuffin get to the top. He has a bright future ahead of him and I’m always there to support!”
This is just the beginning of Roach Killa’s journey to success - Watch out for a double dose of reggae coming your way as Roach Killa gets ready to release the video for “Hey Gal” featuring Apache Indian himself!
