RDB win 'Best Asian Act' at UMA's
The talented trio RDB won the 'Best Asian Act' award on Sunday 1st November 2009 at the 7th Annual Urban Music Awards held at a secret location in London. The awards were a star studded affair with phenomenal performances by Sway, Brick and Lace and Candy Girl.
The UMA’s is the only music awards show dedicated to HipHop, R&B, Soul, and Dance music to have versions of the show in six countries and with plans to launch in Africa this coming December. The British Asian Act category was introduced this year to showcase British Asian Talent from the UK. RDB were up against Jay Sean, M.I.A, Mumzy Stranger, Khiza Music and Talvin Singh.
RDB were not in the country to attend the ceremony but are overwhelmed by the news. Surj Said '' It just shows how much love there is out there, we are totally honoured and happy to receive this award especially as this is the first year this category was introduced. Thanks to all our fans across the world, we will keep making good music and we hope everyone continues to support us.
RDB have just finished completing ‘Paisa’ for Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming movie De Dana Dan.
