Foji’s ‘Dafa Hoja’ sets records
Having reached the top of the Official Download Chart with his new single ‘Bruah’, UK Born vocalist Foji Gill also celebrated a record breaking stint for the smash hit song ‘Dafa Ho Ja’.
The first ever Official Asian Download Chart saw ‘Dafa Ho ja’ enter in at No.2, with only Urban superstar Jay Sean denying Foji the top spot. Incredibly, 19 weeks later, ‘Dafa Ho Ja’ sits firmly rooted within the Top 10, reclaiming no.7 spot on Saturday 24th July. This fantastic feat makes ‘Dafa Ho Ja’ currently the most successful single in the Official Asian Download Charts, spending 18 continuous weeks inside the top 10. It is also the only Bhangra single still in the chart since its creation in March 2010.
The single, which was released 26th February via iTunes, rapidly became a cult classic, emerging into an instant hit on dance floors across the UK and worldwide. Featuring the vocals of Miss Pooja, the song written by Foji Gill was supported with an authentic video providing the perfect desi backdrop for the single.
Foji Gill is currently preparing to release his fourth single, a dedicated tribute to Indian freedom hero; Bhagat Singh; the single is set to release in time for India & Pakistan’s independence day.
Foji continues the trend of high quality videos; with ‘Bhagat Singh’ being supported by an epic video shot in the rural districts of Panjab. It is certain to set new standards in the Asian music scene.
