Akshay Kumar’s gripping performance in Rustom!
We have seen Akshay on the silver screen performing various characters in different genres. Now we have him in what I would call his most gripping performance.
Cast : Akshay Kumar, Ileana D'cruz, Arjan Bajwa, Esha Gupta
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar says his next movie Rustom — based on the sensational K.M. Nanavati case of a Mumbai naval officer — will make the audience think about the country’s legal system.
See what Akshay Kumar had to say!

Last night I was invited to attend the VIP Screening of the latest crime drama release featuring Akshay Kumar, Illena Dcruz and Esha Gupta in Rustom. We see Akshay again in a uniformed character playing this time as an Indian Naval officer Rustom Pavri. Akshay’s character is founded on a real-life sailor K M Nanavati, who in 1959, shot and killed his wife’s lover.
The film throughout was exhilarating, the suspense was captured amazingly. The cinematography was spot on and defiantly took the viewers back in time. For me it was the dialogues and delivery which stood out. Being a crime thriller film there were elements of comedy which transitioned well giving it the light heart feeling.
The delivery from Akshay was remarkable, especially his body language, showing how disciplined he is during his job which he carried out remarkably well throughout. I would have to say this is the best performance I have seen from Akshay Kumar. The way the film unravelled was done very cleverly this is something which the director Pankaj Neeraj needs to be credited for.
The film is through and through out full of twists. You would think from seeing Akshay beside a dead man, holding a gun and surrendering himself to the police would be considered a ‘murderer’ but is he found guilty or not? The complications of love and relation have been well depicted in Rustom. This is not the typical Bollywood film where a man cheat’s on his wife and they make amends, but it is the other way round. As an audience you are always wondering what will happen next and therefore it is an entertainment.
