Diljit Dosanjh is one of the hottest artists in Punjabi music and Pollywood, he is at the top of both industries and for good reason. Diljit has released unreal Bhangra tracks like Mitran Da Junction, Pappleen, Panj Taara, Laembadgini, Do You Know, and most recently a track with Badshah and Sonakshi Sinha called Move Your Lakk.
2011 saw Dosanjh's entry into mainstream Punjabi movies. His debut film in the lead role, The Lion of Punjab, was released in February 2011. Though the film flopped at the box office, his track, "Lak 28 Kudi Da", from the movie's soundtrack was a major success.
Diljit has been such a big superstar in the Punjabi film industry that he has been asked several times to headline Hindi films which he now has in Udta Punjab a story about the drug problem in India as well as Phillauri.
The film Jihne Mera Dil Luteya was the start of that film career which excelled his career as an actor where he starred alongside Gippy Grewal and Neeru Bajwa in a love triangle.
Diljit was also cast alongside Neeru in Jatt and Juliet, and Jatt and Juliet 2 where they also brought in Mandy Takhar
His first recorded mainstream performance was his solo track and music video Ishq Da Uda Ada from his 2004 album produced by Finetone Cassettes. The music was composed by Bablu Mahindra and the lyrics were written by Balvir Boparai. Dosanjh gave vocals to all the eight tracks and the producers made a music video for the title track of the album. His second album Dil was released, which was again with Finetone Cassettes.
