Introducing Navigator
Biography
Navigator is a young British Pakistani producer, who plays instruments, sings, raps, composes, writes and arranges music in a wide range of genres (hip-hop, rnb, pop, bhangra, bollywood, arabic, garage, baseline, electro, funky house, classical and more…)
Being technically minded Navigator has years of professional experience in the music industry from producing music for video games giant Eidos Interactive to sound development for studio software leaders FL Studio and the famous Auto-Tune made famous by artist such as T-Pain, Lil Wayne and Kayne West.
Navigator is a self-taught studio producer and mastering engineer and was first found by the record label Hi-Tech Records (DJ Chino) when he was just 18, where he was responsible for producing the debut album ‘Know Your Fate’ featuring vocalist such as Amar Arshi and the Pakistani Folk legend Shukat Ali.
Navigator wanted to create new sounds within the emerging garage fused bhangra scene in order to open it up to a wider audience. He achieved this by adding rappers and concentrating on the more bass orientated nature of the music.
Having lost creative direction, Navigator went back to the drawing board to further develop his unique sound, visiting various studios across the globe to further develop and perfect he’s music.
Early on in his career, Navigator was approached by the Asian singing sensation ‘Zeekay’ where he produced the underground smash “My Good Girl” which leaked on the internet but quickly became a global anthem.
Navigator was also behind the composition for the mega hit track "Shes like a Star" with Taio Cruz, which peaked at Number 20 on the UK Singles Chart in the summer of 2008.
Navigator has several new releases and remixes ready for 2009 including lead production on a new mainstream album featuring some of uks top selling artist, further details will be announced exclusively to Simplybhangra.
Navigator’s intense passion for music, unique studio presence and extravagant personality shines out from the crowd; Navigator is a talent definitely to watch in 2009.
Navigator says he intends to produce and develop both established and up and coming artist into the desi music scene to close the barrier that exists between bhangra and more commercially viable genres.
