Singh Is Kinng Updates
8 trailers with SINGH IS KINNG!
A number of film production companies are flocking to attach the trailers of their upcoming movies with the print of the Studio 18-distributed SINGH IS KINNG, out on August 7. Little surprise, considering it is one of the most awaited comedies of the season and is bound to draw enormous footfalls into cinemas!
If cinemas let them remain, customers will be able to view not one but as many as eight trailers before SINGH IS KINNG rolls.
Those being attached include Akshay's next outing, CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, Rituparno Ghosh's THE LAST LEAR, Atul Agnihotri's HELLO, Samir Karnik's HEROES, Ajit Pal's VICTORY and Dharmendra's CHAMKU.
But the trailer to look forward to will be that of Sanjay Gadhvi's KIDNAP, a stylish drama, featuring Sanjay Dutt (in his first release of 2008) and latest heart throb, Imraan Khan (JAANE TU YA JAANE NA). KIDNAP has been produced by Ashta Vinayak and will be released by Studio 18 worldwide on the auspicious occasion of Eid (October 2).
A promo of the new channel, Colors (A Viacom 18 company) which has been airing Akshay's reality show KHATRON KE KHILADI will also be attached to the print of SINGH IS KINNG. [Studio 18 and Colors are sister companies.]
Abhishek Bachchan performs to 'Singh Is Kinng'?
First he created an impact at the IIFA Awards when he introduced 'Singh Is Kinng' to Bangkok on stage. Then Akshay Kumar rocked the the Bachchan's The Unforgettable show in Toronto when he came on stage in his 'sardar' get-up to promote his upcoming release on August 7.
We are unofficially informed that the audience in Los Angeles (where Akshay has been shooting for close to a month with the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Kareena Kapoor) were so charmed by the Punjabi 'munda' that they rumouredly drove even Abhishek Bachchan to perform to the title track of 'Singh Is Kinng' during the Unforgettable show on July 26, of which Akshay was not a part.
The audience in LA kept screaming 'Singh Is Kinng' as they were missing Akshay, which supposedly drove the latter's good friend, Abhishek to dance to the title track in good spirit to keep the audience amused.
Akshay attended a press conference of 'Singh Is Kinng' on July 25 at Hotel Hilton Universal City, organised by Studio 18 International. He is said to be attending yet another press conference to promote his upcoming release in Vancouver later this week.
